Hi, I’m Sarah.
I’m an experience architect who loves working at the intersection of people, process, and technology to create experiences that make people’s lives easier.
My Experience
I’ve been working for over 7 years managing client teams across the product lifecycle and delivering mobile, web, and SaaS experiences. Given the nature of my consulting projects, I can’t share specific deliverables or screens, but I can share an overview of my work. Here are some of my recent projects:
Note: for full UX case studies, continue on to the section below.
-
The Problem: The client’s payroll processing and billing processes had many manual touchpoints and employees did not have the data they needed when they needed it to complete their tasks. This was causing longer processing times, rework, and duplication of data entry.
The Process: After doing process discovery to understand the sub-processes and users of each, I ran each business function in the Revenue Operations process through the Design Thinking framework via stakeholder interviews, job shadowing, service blueprinting, and UI design. Then, the updated experience was piloted with a smaller group prior to the full release, enabling us to gather feedback and iterate on the designs.
The Outcome: Increased operational efficiency through automation of manual process steps, improved data flow and visibility, implementation of a modernized, cohesive UI with a standardized design system, and improved employee experience.
-
The Problem: The client’s staffing portal had a low conversion rate and they were struggling to drive their candidate workflows prior to application submission. There were many heuristic issues and inconsistencies that lead to a confusing user experience.
The Process: In addition to heuristic analysis, I developed a research plan consisting of usability testing, surveys, and a card sort to determine where there were opportunities to streamline task completion, remove confusion, and improve information architecture. After analyzing research results, I defined and prioritized enhancements, updated our user journeys, and redesigned our UI using a standardized design system.
The Outcome: An 11% increase in conversion rate and an 8% increase in candidate readiness within the first months of release. The standardized UI served as a launching point for the team to continue enhancing the portal and adding functionality.
-
The Problem: The client company was moving from a traditional product offering to a subscription-based model. There were disparate processes across the lead to cash landscape, as well as a desire to globalize operations while still being able to manage regional nuances.
The Process: I conducted design workshops with over 100 business stakeholders across 4 countries to map and standardize the business processes and customer journey across the Lead to Cash process. In addition to process and journey mapping, I also created wireframes utilizing Oracle SaaS design patterns, prototypes, functional requirements, and design documentation to facilitate handoff to the development team.
The Outcome: A globally standardized subscription management platform that was validated through user testing from our stakeholder pilot groups and enabled the client to shift to subscription selling.
